SRK had made an appearance on Bigg Boss 9 on December 19 to promote his film Dilwale. As a part of the special promo, a scene from Karan Arjun was replicated – the video had Salman and SRK reuniting inside the Kali temple.

The Hindu Mahasabha took objection to the promo, saying that it showed the two actors wearing shoes inside the temple. Bharat Rajput, the President of Hindu Mahasabha Meerut, even wrote a letter to the SSP and District Magistrate of Meerut, stating how SRK and Salman had hurt religious sentiments by this act. The letter was even mailed to Colors, the channel that airs Bigg Boss.

While he did not receive any response from the authorities or the channel, a petition has now been filed at the Court. The hearing is scheduled for January 18.
